In the game of politics no one is off limits. If there is dirt, your opposition will find it. If you have a weakness, they will exploit it. But when her daughter is taken in the middle of a high-stakes vote, Lena Hayes is about to find out just how cut throat the game can be.

I absolutely enjoy your writing style. However, this particular series did not compare to your Death Notes series. Too much action and not enough depth to the story. The twists and turns were great but unrealistic. North Dakota is my home state and I really wanted to read about the people and living style up north in this book. All that said, I look forward to reading your books. Thank you for sharing your gift.

Stolen A Kidnapper Threat Book 1 edition by James Hunt Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

Good story which I enjoyed reading. The four stars instead of five is because of how short each book is and how each one ends.
Again....unfinished book. I thought maybe you would finish the story this time. These people get shot over and over, beaten over and over and still keep going....unfortunately the book does not. When did it become alright for an author to string readers along just to sell another book. I will never read another of you books...even if it is free, as these were.
Stolen the prequel, or Stolen 0 was good and prepared me for this story; however, I was not prepared for it "to be continued."
I was engrossed in the story despite the suspenseful violence which I usually don't like. I also thought some of the action was a bit exaggerated. I downloaded both books for free and suppose I can't complain about having to buy the next one to see what happens!
I enjoyed both books and read them very quickly, as I could not put them down. I also wish the books were numbered and you were aware that you were reading a series. While the story line is very interesting, I believe there is a lot of jumping around between characters with a lot of the story that just disappears that should not. I do like to read series, but I like to feel more fulfilled and wanting after a read rather than in a "cliffhanger" position at the end of a book. I think you are doing your followers an injustice by taking this approach, as you have a tremendous ability to capture the reader from the first page and keep them wanting more even if you take several wrong turns during the telling and then end at a cliff. It is my opinion that you will attract and keep more readers if you make these small adjustments. I look forward to the final installment and wish you the best of luck with your future releases, as I will continue to follow you.
I'd like to give this a higher rating because I really did enjoy it. However this is only part 1 of the story. I bought Part 2, also enjoyable, BUT the story didn't conclude. I do not enjoy cliffhangers. I don't know that I will buy part 3 when it is available, as I feel a little misled and ripped off.
James Hunt' s writing has caused me to do something I seldom will-read a "continuing story from one book to another." He took me literally through the Mother's anguish of having her child kidnapped.
I felt her heartache when her other daughter was threatened.

I can only say if & when I get through the saga he is portraying, I still feel as appreciative of his writing skill. I feel as though I've gone through a war with him & left "wanting" for an end to it.

Great Read. Not one to be read without the others in his series. Enjoy.
Large corporation against small town, Barta, No. Dakota. For two years Lenya Hazes has been fighting a legal battle over fracking for oil that has tainted water supply & air pollution. First as a lawyer then State Legislature. Many families involved who have very sick people. Now including hers as hervdaughter Kayla is kidnapped. There is so much fear & anger between employees of the oil company & the towns people who have sick families. The National Guard is called in to assist & other officers from other towns.
There is so much action I had a hard time putting it down. Now I can't wait for the follow up book since we don't know where Kayla is.
I absolutely enjoy your writing style. However, this particular series did not compare to your Death Notes series. Too much action and not enough depth to the story. The twists and turns were great but unrealistic. North Dakota is my home state and I really wanted to read about the people and living style up north in this book.
